I've been kind of obsessing over this lately. What is the perfect word count to aim for when writing?
The answer I've come to - is the perfect word count is when the author believes the story is finished.
Forcing more words to get a higher count can never be good, nor can searching for things to delete in order to shrink the final word count.
The Reasonable Doubt Series have been some of my favorite reads this year and they are on the shorter side. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is 759 amazing pages and I devoured it in one day, loving every single word.
My humble opinion - When it comes to books,
size doesn't matter.
