I am completely obsessed with this show. I watched it once and was completely hooked. For those of you have never watched it, it is a cooking competition on The Food Network. (I think it's also on Netflix.)

At the moment I am making fresh Salsa Verde.
Wish me luck (it's looking a little watery)
& watch CHOPPED!!!
It's such a good freaking show!!!

So, being I am obsessed with this show and have been struggling with some writer's block lately, I decided to try for some creativity in the kitchen. I've made several trip to Whole Foods this week to pick up my very own "mystery ingredients". These ingredients include:
Tomatillos
Chinese 5 Spice
Rainbow Carrots
Golden Beets
Marsala Wine
Sea Bass
Scampi Butter
Blood Oranges
New Zealand Lamb Chops
Fresh Cilantro

Four chefs are given a basket with 4 mystery ingredients and they are given a time limit to create an appetizer, entree and dessert. After each round a chef is - CHOPPED (sent home). In the end the remaining chef is named the Chopped champion and winner of ten thousand dollars.
They are judged by a panel of three renowned chefs. My personal favorite, and Chopped crush is Scott Conant. He always has this sexy-angry thing going on. Cook your pasta the wrong way and you're going home!! Or in my fantasy taken into the back for... nevermind, that's private.
