Ryan is on FIRE!
No, like really, she's hot.
Summer is here and my FANS are in full effect.
My actual fans. If you look to the left you can see the ceiling fan over my bed, the table top fan that sits on my bedside table and the clip on one that goes above my head.
Yes, I do have central air.
No, it is not enough.
There is no cuddling in summer. Sorry, Mr. Ringbloom but keep your furnace-esque body away from mine.
*Cuddling, not pre-cuddling. I'm bad but I'm not that bad.
There is no warm comforting blanket in summer. Which leaves me completely vulnerable to monsters, burglars and boogie men who normally keep away when I'm covered with my quilted shield.
There is no deep sleep in summer. There is sweating and more trips to the bathroom from all the necessary hydration. Which leads to overthinking.
Well, I always overthink, but more than normal.
So anyway, as any author might say-
I need more FANS!!!!
Why do I never have a release date?
Why is it always fly by the seat of my pants with my releases?
I don't know.
I just can never seem to pin point what day it's all gonna come together.
So - SURPRISE!!! It's today!!!!
The order of these books are Dick, Chick, Trick, Flick.
Yes, they can all stand alone. But I think they're better when read in order, especially these last two.
.99 each for a limited time and FREE with Kindle Unlimited.
**Stay Tuned - Tomorrow I'll do a GIVEAWAY in the group.
Well, when an author loves a stock photo very much...
They save it to their favorites and send it to their cover artist!
Below is the original photo that was purchased to become the cover for
The Two-Night One-Night Wedding.
I loved it. It was exactly what I was thinking for Matthew and Holly.
The cover artist trimmed, edited, cleaned, brightened and polished.
And magic happened.
A cover was born.
As the final two books in the Whiskey Series are in the final stages of edits, I figured I would give a little backstory to the books.
It all started with Remi Kay. She popped into my head one day. I knew her name and I thought I knew her story. I started writing and the original title was - Who the Fuck Is Remi Kay? It was a completely different direction. But as I was writing it, I hit a wall and realized it was not going to work out the way I planned. I shelved it.
Instead of returning to her story, I started her twin brother Jax's story, Whiskey Dick. A short, silly, fun romance. I contact my cover artist and as I'm discussing options with her, it hits me, if Jax is dick, Remi can be chick. That's perfect. She makes me the two covers. I'm good to go. Great.
Whiskey Dick is done and I return to Remi Kay's story, Whiskey Chick, with a new approach and new story line. I write and write and write.
It is in no way, shape or form the right story. I'm basically half way through the book and I have no choice but to hit DELETE.
I'm freaking out. This whole thing started because of this crazy character Remi and I have no freaking clue how to write her.
We make a last minute decision to go to Niagara Falls. I obsess over her story the entire car ride there and back. I try and channel the energy of the Falls for some creative spark. But we return home and I'm left staring at a blank screen.
I was going nutty. I'm like what the fuck is whiskey chicks story????? What did she do? What is the story of whiskey chick? Whiskey chick's story is....
Then it hit me, she needed an actual story. The legend of Whiskey Chick. There ya go. Awesome.
As I write, I quickly realize she needs a BF, a partner in crime. The birth of Jenn. There also needed to be another brother - enter Henry. I loved them both. I knew I would def need to tell their stories too.
Henry's story came easy. Whiskey Trick. Fun and perfectly Henry. The idea for Jenn came easy too...at first. I knew her story would be Whiskey Flick. But the original flick I had in mind was completely different.
I had a plan, even shared it with a few people but then one day while videoing with my author buddy, I had a slow motion epiphany - ooooohhhh-mmmmmmmmm-gggggeeeeeee. Her story was right in front of me the entire time. I hit the brakes and re-started it in a whole new direction. Yippeeeee! I loved writing it!
And although all the Whiskey Books can stand alone, I really would love for readers to read Trick and Flick together, which is why I am waiting to release them both at the same time.
The final two books are coming in June 2019.
The birth of pen name Ryan Ringbloom
1. In real life my name initials are R.R. If you've ever received mail from me, you may have noticed that I tend to sign RR. That's how I sign almost everything in real life and book world.
2. I wanted something androgynous. A name where people wondered, is this a male or female author? But then every once in a while I'll see a review where the reader thinks I'm male and I have to laugh.
I tried looking for a review I saw once but couldn't find it, where a reader accuses me of something along the lines of being a man obsessed with girls in panties having pillow fights. I almost DIED when I read it.
Of laughter...and a little embarrassment.
3. It was the ONLY name I came up with that when I Googled, there wasn't already a person with that name. Not an easy thing to do these days.
I must have typed in 100 other names first.
Okay, so there you have it. That's how I became Ryan Ringbloom.
** - One of my brother's name's is Ryan but that has nothing to do with my choice.
**- If you read my last post. I still have the fucking drain. Going on 6 weeks now. The surgery was 2 months ago. Serenity now that my next procedure corrects all of this.
**- I am redirecting my anger over the situation into creative energy and writing. The Whiskey books continue.
**- I love Henry. Trick. Obsessed with Jenn. Flick.
I don't even know where to begin...
Even though my son's birthday was the 10th by some miracle we booked his birthday party for Friday the 1st. BECAUSE this huge shit storm all began on February 2nd!
We went out to dinner with friends, one of my fav places, and yet as we were driving there I told my husband I felt full. (FYI - I am never full. Never. I should've known right then and there something was wrong.)
After dinner, we came back to our house and my back started to kill me. Horrible pain. It was so bad I needed my husband to rub it. The pain kept getting worse and worse. It was so bad that I smoked a little to help the pain. (Not something I normally do.) It did help but only temporarily. Then when the pain came back it was worse than ever. Our company was like - um maybe we should go.
They no sooner left and I spent the entire rest of the night in the most agonizing pain of my life. I was then sick all night to the point where I gave up and just slept on the bathroom floor. At 6:10 am, I did finally get a little relief. However, I never left my bed all day.
At 11pm that night, the pain came back. And by 4 am, I was asking my hubs to take me to the ER. By that afternoon they were removing my gallbladder.
Great. Problem solved.
We made a foolish choice in the hospital we went to. Things didn't go exactly right. After two nights, they released me with a fever of 103.5. I also was incredibly short of breath. By Friday, I was back in ER where we learned I had a collapsed lung. They blamed the fever on that. Gave me breathing training to fix the lung and sent me home. Even though I was still like hmmmm...
Tuesday, I am no better. The fevers are still there. I call my doctor TWICE, he says wait until Friday to come in. He said there was nothing they could really see until Friday anyway. (Fine, asshole. Always trust a patient with a fever. But whatever. It's just my life we're talking about.)
Friday. Back to ER. I have an abscess. (I knew it!)
I am admitted. I get a drain. But after the abscess drains, bile is starting to drain.
But I'm discharged after 5 days without them really knowing what's going on with me. (Yeah....I have no fucking clue how that was allowed.)
And now I STILL have the drain. It's disgusting. I am miserable!!!!!! And I have to go for an MRI tomorrow - in the snowstorm.
Should be lovely.
But I HAVE to go. This has been going on way too long. I need to get fixed! I can't take it anymore!!!! It's been over a month since this all began. I'm lonely and sore and bored and smelly and sad and half crazy!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe more like 3/4 crazy!!!!!
SERENITY FUCKING NOW!!!!!!!!!
OKAY - Rant over
For the next 100 days
no booze of any kind.
Here we go.
I can do this.
2-1-19 **Honest Update - I drank twice in January. But I swear on my life no chips or soda so far in 2019!
2-2-19***Honest, honest update. Last night I absentmindedly picked up a glass of soda at my son's birthday party and drank the entire thing. Fuck it. Bring on the chips. We tried 2019.

Here is my Top Ten TV Binges of 2018.

10. Elite -
I think this was on Netflix. We loved it. 90210 meets murder.

In all fairness this is what I'm binging right now on Hulu
so I'm all about it but it really is so good. We're hooked.
8. Schitt's Creek -
Because Daniel Levy is freaking awesome.
7. Harlot's -
Season 1 is good. Season 2 is even better.
6. The Guest Book -
This season came back STRONG! It was laugh out loud funny
and the ending messages were touching and thought provoking.
